If you have only a week, Poon Hill is the trek to choose. A gentle itinerary of 4–6 hour days takes you from Pokhara through Magar and Gurung villages to a 3,210 m viewpoint where, at dawn, 8,000 m peaks catch the first light.
Departures run every Saturday through the season, so you can pick any weekend that suits you. Accommodation is in friendly teahouses, and the pace is relaxed enough for first-time trekkers and active families.
